Just before 5 p.m. the Company was requested along with Co. 39(LCFD), Tower 61(Reliance), and Medic 100-7 to assist Company 68(MHTFD) on a Building Fire on Church Street. Chief 68(J.McClure) and 68-7 arrived on the scene with smoke showing and upgraded the assignment bringing RIT 63(Green Ridge) & NCC RIT 13(Claymont). Ladder 68 arrived and went in service followed by Rescue 40 & Rescue 39. The Rescue's crew assisted with opening up. Engine 40, 40-6A, and 40-6B also made the response. The balance of the Company stood by in manpower. Interior crews made a quick stop on the fire. The ticket was scaled back a short time later to Co.68, Rescue 40, and Rescue 39 to wrap up. While the balance of the Company was returning fireboard advised Chief 40 of a Building Fire in the Local on Briarcliffe. 40-1, 40-6A, and 40-6B arrived on the scene with nothing showing. Tower and Squrt 61 arrived next and stood by. Also on the ticket was Co.55 and Truck 63. Chief 40 was then advised of a fire alarm in the local on Winding Way. Briarcliffe was placed under control and held to Company 40 for ventilation. Company 55 & 61 were sent over to winding way to handle the fire alarm. The Rescue clearing the Marcus Hook job, arrived on Winding Way with nothing showing. It turned out to be burnt food and 40-9B(Brady) held it to Rescue 40 & Engine 55. The Company was in quarters in about an hour. Pictures courtesy of MHTFD 68.
