Very nice website! Wow, the department sure has had some MAJOR changes over the years. I would surely be proud to a member of this department. Actually, I was, many years ago and still can't thank the "old timers" for getting me started in a career that has been very satisfying and rewarding. I started out as a member in 1972 and left in 1974 to take up a career in the USAF Fire Protection service. The fire service has been my life for 33 years but as you older guys know, there comes a time where the body says..."I cant do this anymore", so ends the love of my life that I will never be sorry for. Not many people can say that they loved their job but I can and I bet a lot of others here can say they do too. So again I would like to thank Boothwyn Fire Company, the old and the new, for this wonderful career that has been fulfilled due to the great inspiration given to me by being a member. I just wanted to comment on the fire on Beech street in June. We live right next door and are very thankful to all of your hard work. There are so many trees that if you hadn't work so fast who knows how much it would have spread. My husbands family has lived in this house since it was built and we are very thankful to you for making sure that the fire didn't get any bigger. |
