Fire Showing From A Garage in the First Due

Monday, February 6, 2012 Around 2:15 p.m, Companies 40, 55, 61, Rescue 39, Truck 63, Ladder 68, NCC RIT 13(Claymont), and Medic 100C were dispatched to Ogden Ave for a Garage Fire. Engine 40 w/6 arrived shortly after the dispatch and advised they had fire showing from a detached garage. Rescue 40 w/5 arrived shortly after and started a split lay from 3rd & McCay into the scene due to the length of the lay.

The crew from the Engine and Rescue put two handlines in service and made a quick knock on the fire and started to check for extension. Truck 63 arrived next and were advised to remove a garage door for ventilation and to check for further extension. Rescue 39 arrived next and hit the hydrant at Chichester and McCay to finish the split lay from Rescue 40.

The job was under control within 10 minutes and units started to wrap up shortly after. Boothwyn units remained on scene for about an hour to assist with the investigation. Chief Robert Powers had the "Ogden Avenue" Command. Thanks to Engine 57(Upland) and Squad 50(Middletown) for covering.
